Amy

Amy is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College and the University of Kentucky College of Law. Before law school, she was a chemist who worked in the industry as well as utility management. She has been practicing in western Kentucky since 1998, in both a large regional law firm and in governmental offices. Amy is an experienced litigator who has represented plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases, as well as prosecuting and defending criminal cases.

Over the years, she has handled cases involving medical malpractice, premises liability (slip and fall), and motor vehicle liability (trucking and passenger/pedestrian). Amy’s other civil litigation experience includes construction law, architectural negligence, bad faith insurance litigation, telecommunications liability claims, hospital/credentialing negligence, dram shop actions and business/employment claims.

Criminal law has been part of Amy’s practice since 2002. Many cases in both district (misdemeanor) and circuit (felony) court have been tried to verdict, both as a prosecutor and defense attorney. In addition, Amy has extensive experience in handling juvenile court proceedings.

When not practicing law, Amy enjoys family time and a wide variety of recreational activities. Spending time on Kentucky Lake, watching football and basketball and playing golf as well as knitting, sewing and other handicrafts are just some of her interests, Many different jobs, hobbies and interests give a person the ability to think creatively and pursue new ways of solving problems.
